Under a Covid lock-down the Anzac Day Ambrose was cancelled last year, so a full field wanted to make up for that this year. Although the weather forecast wasn't that great, the afternoon was fine and warm for this time of the year. A few tweeks to the rules meant every player had to have at least 4 counting tee shots, with 1 on a par 3, 1 on a par 4 and 1 on a par 5. Depending on where you started in the shot gun start this needed some careful planning.
The greenkeepers entered into the spirit of the day and presented some pretty challenging pin positions. Perfectly acceptable when every team has 4 chances to get close! The best score from a Women's team was 70.25 - posted by Maureen Heine, Chris Hargrave, Gail MacKenzie and Sue Huljich.
In the Mixed division the winners were Bryan & Sabra Davies, and Rob and Leanne Bode on 61. They were followed by Rhys & Maree Ritchie, and John and Nicky Durkin on 62.12.
The Men's runners-up were Ross Valentine, Cam MacKenzie, Anthony Rissetto and Callum Cameron on 60.37. They were 1 shot behind the overall winners - Chris Hanley, David Annan, Thomas Neylon and Blair James on 59.25.
The Long Drive prizes went to Tina Lucas and Cameron MacKenzie, while the Nearest the Pins were - Maree Ritchie, John Durkin, Leanne Bode and Richard Lane. In addition there were 12 lucky draw prizes handed out.
