This is a Combined Stableford event over 36 holes played on consecutive Saturday afternoons.  The field is split in two on the median handicap and a player drawn from each half of the field.  After Round 1 two teams were at the top - Chris Hanley/Brett Innes and Barry Hall/John Johnson on 74pts.  Wayne Hirt/Dennis Swan and Johnny Lee/Jack Kirkland-Smith were just 1pt behind on 73pts.

 

After a severe frost closed the course for morning play in the second round, the afternoon delivered the best winter conditions possible - fine, warm (in the sun at least) and no wind.  Barry Hall & John Johnson came in with 69pts, giving them 143pts total.  Meanwhile Geoff Hamilton and Warren Bygrave backed up their 70pts from Round 1 with 73pts to match Barry & Johnny on 143pts.  The count-back was resolved on the back 9 holes (10-18) in the second round and it came down in favour of Geoff & Warren.  

 

 

Our next weekend event is the Captains Prize Qualifying on Saturday July 17th.  Entry is online again - www.remueragolfclub.com.  Entrants will be placed on the start sheet 10 days before the event to ensure that those keen on playing in the competition get a tee time.  Other players will be able to enter the event on the day when they print their scorecard.
